Roxie the Story of a Pet Rock: Chapter 2 Pet Rock Training Today I decided to teach Roxie some tricks. As you know not many people have tried to train a pet rock before I knew it might be challenging. I thought sit might be an easy one to start. Apparently I was right Roxie is very good at sitting. Roxie is also good at laying down. And sitting up. Roxie is also good at staying… But, doesn’t seem to get the concept of come here. Roxie, however, is good at playing dead. Roxie doesn’t seem to understand how to fetch a ball. So I decided to throw a stick… … I determined that Roxie is a stick hog.

Roxie: A Story of a Pet Rock

Recently a lot of friends have been going through miles stones in their life. Friends have been starting relationships, getting engaged, getting married, moving into their first place, getting their first pet, finding their first full time job, having babies, watching their child walk into their first day of kindergarten, and many other so called milestones that supposedly make one’s life a little closer to complete. All this made me wonder “what I was doing with my life?” I decided to go on a walk, and ponder this. I was walking down a country road early in the morning, the fall leaves at my feet, just enjoying the sun and the cool breeze. As I continued walking I saw something in the distance… As I got nearer I slowly made out what it was... I saw two sad eyes looking up at me, from a little pet rock. It looked lost and frightened, as if someone had just left it there, and went away. ...

Ratcar

Q: What does one do when one has fake fur and an old RC car? A: One makes a Ratcar. It is both a rat and a car what more could one want! I had a lot of fun building this and it was a great break project. The Ratcar has been halfway done on a shelf for about a year now, and I finally decided to finish it... Twelve-year-old me would be so proud. A cute nose, little ears, and beady eyes... Tires as feet... And a long tail. How was it built? The under structure was shaped with paper tubes covered with plastic for protection. Then I draped fur on it and folded it and stitched it until it made the shape of the rat's body. I made sure to make a slit for the tail and also the antenna with is needed to make the rat move. Lastly, I covered the tail, added the ears, nose, and eyes, and put new batteries in the Ratcar.
