When I was in high school I was told by a substitute art teacher that she noticed that I really did not have a sense of style, or focus to my art and it concerned her as I seemed to get easily bored and moved from thing to thing. Then one day while we were having evaluations she told me that "I (me) was a storyteller, and her earlier concern may have been wrong." I was very confused by that at the time and kind of disgruntled about it, since everyone else that I knew had a sense of style, and I felt unfocused and frustrated. It is now 2017 and I am older and have finally come to the conculsion I am a storyteller, and I am happiest when I tell stories.
The following images are art work from my high school days and each has it's own story.
Wind Mill (black charcoal 2011)
This piece tells the story of an old windmill that has seen the decay of an old family farm out west. It has a black and white glimpse at an old past one can only imagine what had happened. One may never know...
The Day The Funnel Came (Acrylic Paint 2009)
A peaceful day has a nightmare coming in the distance. We observe as the tornado is almost at the neighbor's barn, and we do nothing.

This tells the story of a friend with dyslexia who saw everything written backwards.
Birds of a Feather Hide Together (Mixed media glue, acrylic, feathers 2012)
This tells the story of a mask as a way to hide things inside. The mask in the picture is the most prominent as the shapes made with glue in the background blend in.
A Blue Night (Glue and acrylic paint 2012)
Inspired by blues music. It tells the tale of a romantic who has no one.
Daisy Purse (Fabric Paint canvas bag 2012)

Inspired my my papa's story were he and his cousin's weren't suppose to make a peep according to his dad who was napping, but his little brother decided to take that literally and started saying "peep, peep."
